Vita

I am an Associate Professor at the Institute of Media, Theatre and Popular Culture at the University of Hildesheim.

After studying Romance languages and literature, comparative literature, theatre, film and media studies in Paris, Nantes and Frankfurt/Main, I completed a doctorate at the Goethe University Frankfurt with an interdisciplinary thesis on the Parisian theatre war and the development of theatre around 1700 from a contemporary perspective.

I worked as a research assistant at the Institutes for Theatre, Film and Media Studies and Romance Studies at Goethe University, where I co-directed the MA programmes in dramaturgy and Erasmus Mundus in Performing Arts Studies. I was an interim professor of theatre studies at the LMU Munich, a fellow at the German Historical Institute in Paris and held guest lectureships and teaching positions at Lancaster University (LICA – Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts), the Academy for Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg and the Ludwigsburg University of Education.

I am an associate member of the DFG Research Training Group 2477 ‘Aesthetic Practice’ (University of Hildesheim) and an elected member of the Executive Committee, European Association for the Studies of Theatre and Performance (EASTAP) and co-convenor of the working group ‘Theory and Practice’ of the Society for Theatre Studies (GTW).
